We are working on "building" a small school for people who have never been able to go to school, or who have had little schooling. I'm working on recruiting teachers, either teachers in training or retired teachers, who may be able to come work with us for a few months at a time.
We are in the process of having the paperwork done to legalize the school; the government officials have told us to get the paperwork done for our future children's village first, and incorporate the school into that. This is a step that I wasn't planning to take right now, but in order to have the school registered I need to do it. This means that we could potentially begin taking children in the next 6 months or so. I'm really praying about which direction to go on this, I'm not sure we're ready for that yet.
I'm also praying for the right person(s) to help with administration and finances. We are currently assisting a family with a small 2.5 year old child that can't walk. He has a bad case of Rickett's and needs therapy and special care. In times past, I would have fostered the child until they were well, and sent them back to their home environment. Baby Ransom has a terrible home environment, but my schedule is so busy I'm not able to give him the full care he needs. I can adjust my schedule, but I'm more concerned with what happens after we get him to a healthy place, where will he go? How do we reach parents that are not interested in caring for their child?
